The villa was donated to the club by president Giovanni Cini while Pietro Berti (1847 – 1904) was entrusted with the project itself and its execution.

Mr. Berti was already known for the realization of the tribune of the horse racing area at the Cascine Park. It was originally planned to put up a small one-storey building with a small loggia surronded by an attic and a tympanum in a very classic, moderate and well-measured way.

As the villa did not only have estetic values but represented a futuristic build of its era, it remained in its original shape until the 50ies when it got subdivided in three parts:

-
On the left hand wide (today the room for playing cards) were the men’s locker rooms with a big black wooden stove that helped the players in winter to warm up while getting changed
-
In the middle was a large room for reading with a huge bar in white marble.
-
On the right hand side, nowadays the secretary’s office, were the women’s locker rooms.
